If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know I am a big fan of press on nails. Long, manicured nails are quite aesthetically pleasing to me. In fact, I sell hand painted press on nail sets on Etsy, but I hadn’t worn any myself in a few years. I decided to wear some for my birthday earlier this month. I was all out of nail glue, and trusty Amazon recommended the Glamnetic Brush-On Nail Glue. Do you remember seeing TONS of Glamnetic ads on Instagram in recent years? I sure do! The glue had mixed reviews, but the price was right, so I decided to give it a shot. I am beyond impressed!
Application Process and Staying Power
The Glamnetic Brush-On Nail Glue retails for $9.99 CAD on Amazon. This price point is in the middle of the other nail glue options available on Amazon. As I mentioned, the reviews were mixed. Some said the nails fell off quickly, and others said they were very impressed by the staying power of the glue.
I used press on nails that I purchased from Ebay and painted myself, not Glamnetic brand nails. My natural nails were fairly long, so that might have contributed to the staying power of the glue: there was more surface area for the nails to stick to. I quite enjoyed the brush tip applicator as it allows an even application and prevents messes. I applied the glue directly to my own nails, as well as on the press on nails for extra strength, as the Glamnetic instructions suggest. Then, I held each press on nail down against my own nails for about 20 seconds. The glue dried very quickly.Β
I applied the nails on a Saturday afternoon, and they did not budge until the next Saturday, 1 full week later. During this week, I worked in the office; did household chores including dishes and changing the bedding; and I wrapped parcels. I was sure if the nails were to fall off, it would happen either when I was changing the bedding and tucking in the fitted sheets, or when I was wrapping parcels and handling packing tape. After completing both those tasks, the nails remainedΒ firmly in place. The staying power of this glue really is impressive!
Removal Process
One full week after I applied the press on nails, I noticed the nail on my right index finger was becoming loose. I decided to remove all the nails at that point. I was able to gently peel them off painlessly. There was absolutely no damage to my natural nails. The glue did leave quite a bit of residue behind, but I was able to easily buff and file it away using a regular nail file.
I definitely recommend the Glamnetic Brush-On Nail Glue! I am looking forward to wearing press on nails more often. Have you tried any Glamnetic products? What did you think?
I love Glamnetic products and I’m glad to hear that their glue is amazing as well!
I might try other products from them! π
This sounds like a great nail glue. Even though it left residue behind, it was good that you were able to buff that away with a nail file x
