Happy September! The best time of the year, *autumn*, is nearly here and I couldn’t be happier! I was recently on the lookout for a cheap eyeshadow primer. My friend recommend the Milani Eyeshadow Primer to me. I was also curious about the Sephora Eye Primer. Since both have a very reasonable price point, I decided to try them both out. Here are my thoughts on the Sephora Boost + Lock 12HR-Wear Eye Primer compared to the Milani Eyeshadow Primer.
Sephora Boost + Lock 12HR-Wear Eye Primer
Pros
- Very affordable, $16 CAD for 0.24 oz
- Convenient applicator wand
- Easy to blend
Cons:
- Very thin consistency
- Didn’t last longer than 6-8 hours for me
Milani Eyeshadow Primer
Pros:
- Affordable, $12-$15 CAD for 0.3 oz
- Last 12+ hours, which is great for me as I have long days
- Easy to blend
Cons:
- None!!
The Sephora Eye Primer might work well on others, but it just wasn’t a hit for me. Maybe it doesn’t agree with my eyelid oils. In my opinion, the Milani Eyeshadow Primer is absolutely amazing! It is a great dupe for the Urban Decay Primer Potion. The tube is easy to squeeze and can even be cut when it’s almost empty to ensure I use up every last drop of product.
What’s your favorite eyeshadow primer? Thanks for reading!
Oh I will have to try the Milani. I generally just just my concealer as primer it does a decent job.

I’ve never tried using my concealer as a primer, I’ll have to see if it works! 🙂
I normally use the Urban Decay Primer Potion, so it’s great to hear about the Milani Eyeshadow Primer! It does seem like a fantastic and affordable alternative to the Primer Potion!
Let me know if you ever try the Milani primer 🙂
Looks really great, primer is very usuful especially after a certain age when out skin stars to show the first sing of aging.
