Thrift Store Haul: Amazing Finds at Value Village

I’ve been a big fan of thrifting for many years. I love the “treasure hunt” aspect of shopping at the thrift store: you never know what unique goodies await you! Value Village was offering a 30% off sale on clothing, accessories and bed and bath for their Super Savers Club members a few weekends ago. I was planning on going to Value Village soon so this sale came at the perfect time! I gave myself a $40 budget and managed to stay very close to my target thanks to the sale. My average cost of goods for this haul was $8.32. Here is my little thrift store haul. Some items are for me, and some are to resell on my Poshmark closet.

Clothing Items

On this particular trip to Value Village I was interested in skirts, dresses and coffee mugs. I try to limit my thrifting shopping trips to a maximum of three categories so I don’t go overboard with my spending. Limiting my browsing to three categories also prevents my boyfriend Darren from being bored to tears. He is not knowledgeable on fashion brands but he does like helping me choose pieces and has a good eye for quality items. I was considering purchasing this Babaton skirt for myself but hesitated because I already have a dressy black skirt. He encouraged me to purchase it because the crochet pattern is quite unique. I am so glad I did! Babaton is an Aritzia brand, and this skirt originally retailed for quite a bit! I decided to list this skirt in my Poshmark closet since it has a good resale value.

This Joseph Ribkoff pencil dress caught my eye because of its bold asymmetrical pattern. I think it is beautiful and chic for the office or for a cocktail party! I have also listed this dress in my Poshmark closet.

Finally, this Monteau dress caught my eye as I am a big fan of floral print. The mesh panel and sweetheart neckline are adorable. I will be keeping this dress for myself. It is quite short so I will need to wear shorts underneath it. It will be perfect for summer date nights!

Coffee Mugs

I absolutely LOVE coffee mugs. I would collect hundreds of them if I had the space. Reselling mugs on Poshmark has been really fun for me, as it allows me to “temporarily” collect mugs without becoming a hoarder. I picked up two mugs during this shopping trip, but I will actually be keeping both this time.

First up is this adorable Mickey and Minnie Mouse mug. I decided to keep it instead of reselling it because I noticed a small chip on the inside when I got home. It is perfect to hold my makeup brushes!

Next is this hilarious half mug. I am a big coffee drinker and I love coffee puns and Dad jokes, so there was no way I could leave this cute half mug behind. I am using it was a decoration and have it on display on a shelf.

Are you also a thrift store aficionado? What are some of your favorite finds? Thank for stopping by!

  1. Great VV haul! The Ribkoff dress is gorgeous and definitely an easy piece to wear into the office. I live 5 minutes away from a VV and drop in WAY too frequently since I take my 4-month old around the neighbourhood, haha. My best find to date is a probably a Babaton blazer!
Best of luck with your Poshmark sales πŸ™‚

    1. Haha I also call it VV! The closest one to me is probably 5 minutes away as well. A Babaton blazer, how great! Thank you! The Joseph Ribkoff dress sold already! πŸ˜„

  2. Wow, these are amazing finds! I can’t wait to go thrifting when the weather gets warmer. I’d love to see what I can add to my spring/summer wardrobe. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I enjoy shopping at thrift stores, and these are great finds! That’s a good idea to stick to 3 categories when shopping! I love the floral dress you bought, and the half mug is funny!
