I received a mini size of the Treslúce Beauty Ilusión Mascara in an Ipsy bag a few months ago. I had never heard of the Treslúce Beauty brand before, but I am always excited about trying new mascaras. In short, I was blown away by this mascara! It is a tubbing mascara that doesn’t budge all day!
What makes the Treslúce Beauty Ilusión Mascara Special?
As I mentioned above, the Treslúce Beauty Ilusión Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara is a tubing mascara. In just a few strokes, my eyelashes were volumized and super long. The brush is thin and the bristles are short, so it’s quite easy to apply the product in the corners of my eye. This mascara doesn’t flake, smear or budge! I wore it for 12+ hours and even exercised outdoors in the cold, and it still didn’t budge. Despite it’s super-staying power, it is not difficult to remove at all. I just wet my face and gently pinch the product off my lashes.
Treslúce Beauty Rebranding?
After looking up the company, I learned that Treslúce Beauty was founded by American singer and actress Becky G and was launched in June 2021. The brand aims to celebrate Becky G’s Mexican heritage as well as all Latin cultures. Yes, I am becoming an old lady who lives under a rock because I had no idea. I need to get with it! I was interested in purchasing the full size version of this mascara and it seems like I am too late…
Treslúce Beauty appears to be going through a rebranding right now. In fact, a post on their Instagram account from January 31, 2024 says they are “looking forward to their next chapter”. I scrolled further and it seems all their products were heavily discounted for the whole month of January while they focused on the brand’s new direction. I tried to see what was going on and it seems that Treslúce Beauty allegedly faced some controversy for having very similar products to another brand, Araceli Beauty. Here is an article by Remezcla that explains the alleged controversy. This happened back in 2022… I really do live under a rock!
Sadly I am late to the game. Perhaps I could have purchased more of this awesome mascara for a bargain! I am following Treslúce Beauty on Instagram and will stay tuned for any updates. Let’s hope that the Ilusión mascara will be back!
The mascara sounds really wonderful! I hadn’t heard about any of the drama with the brand, but I hope you are able to get more of this mascara in the future. It’s always so disappointing when you find something you love only for it to be discontinued or unavailable!
