Hello readers! I received a deluxe-size sample of the Christophe Robin Hydrating Melting (Hair) Mask in my December 2022 Ipsy glam bag. I’m especially into haircare during the winter months when my hair tends to get dry. I’ve used this product once so far and I wanted to share my first impressions with you.
This hair mask is meant to be used in lieu of conditioner after shampooing. The instructions recommend to apply a small amount of product to the roots, and to massage it down to the tips. It is only necessary to to leave the product on for 2 minutes before rinsing it out thoroughly. I like this method of using a hair mask to replace conditioner. I find the extra step of applying a hair mask after conditioning takes too much time when I am in a hurry. Some hair masks also recommend leaving the product in for 5-10 minutes. The short action time of the Christophe Robin Hydrating Melting Mask is great for people on the go!
This fragrance of this mask reminds me of a light cologne. However, the scent was not overpowering once my hair dried. The consistency of this mask is of a medium-thickness cream. It was very easy to apply and spread well. One thing I noted was that it did not detangle my hair like a conditioner does. My hair has been particularly tangled when wet since I touched up my highlights (it is probably damaged). I air dried my hair after using this mask, and my hair was very soft and poufy the next morning. It was easy to brush and no longer tangled when dry.
Overall, I am very pleased with the Christophe Robin Hydrating Melting Mask. I recommend it for a boost of hair hydration in a pinch!
