Winter Self-Care Favorites

Hello 2022! It’s a new year, and like many people, I have made a few resolutions. I don’t always stick to them, but this year I intend on really trying. One of my resolutions is to save more money. I’d like to be smarter about non essential purchases, especially when it comes to beauty items. I have stashes upon stashes of stuff but I keep adding to my collection. My plan for this year is to use what I already have, and if I absolutely need to purchase something, I’ll check the drugstore or dollar store. No more Sephora splurges for me, for a while at least. That being said, here are my current winter self-care favorites. I purchased two of these items last year. The third item was a free sample, and the last item was a birthday gift. I’ve been using all of these products over the last few weeks and loving them. They all play a part in my self-care routine.

Sephora Beauty Amplifier Set and Refresh Spray

I had never used setting sprays until last year. Crazy, right? I received a free sample of a setting spray from another brand with a Sephora order last summer, and I was instantly hooked! When it ran out, I decided to purchase the Sephora Beauty Amplifier Set and Refresh Spray. This setting spray is a really great value compared to other brands. It has a light peppermint scent and feels super refreshing on my skin. It makes my pores look smoother and helps my makeup last longer. Win, win.

Lush Beauty Sleep Face and Body Mask

The Lush Beauty Sleep Face and Body Mask is a little treat I purchased in December. My sister wanted a perfume from Lush for Christmas, and I bought this mask as a gift to myself while I was shopping. It smells delightful! I hadn’t really used an “old fashioned” mask in a while, as I was sticking to sheet masks. But there’s something about actually applying the mask on my face using my fingers that makes the experience so much more pampering and satisfying. This mask contains valerian root to help hydrate the skin, and help you wind down before bed. Lush recommends leaving the mask on for 15 minutes, and gently massaging your face while rinsing the mask off. Again, the process is so much more satisfying than a sheet mask! After using this mask, my skin feels totally refreshed and so soft.

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base

I received the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base as a free gift with minimum purchase on a recent Sephora order. I apply a tiny amount to my under eye area with my pinky finger before putting my makeup on. This product makes my skin feel instantly refreshed, and helps with my concealer application. Sometimes, I even use it alone on no makeup days. The 3 ml trial size jar looks like it will last me at least a few months, as not much product is needed per application. I’m not sure if I’ll purchase the full size jar once this one is used up. It is quite pricey… I’ll have to wait for a sale!

XMondo Electric Rain Moisture Cream

This item was a birthday gift from my sister (in June). I used it a few times in the summer, but stopped for a while because I didn’t want to use it up too quickly. Electric Rain Moisture Cream is a leave-in treatment designed to hydrate and rebuild your hair, using baobab protein and argan oil. It can be used on wet or dry hair. I prefer to use it on wet hair after washing it. I’ve been using it consistently since the weather got colder. Electric Rain has a lovely woodsy scent, which I prefer in the colder months. It makes my hair feel so soft, and the scent lasts for days!

What are your current self-care favorites? Have you made any resolutions for this year? Let’s hope I can resist any shopping urges and stay on target with my saving goals. Thanks for reading!
