DIY Decorated Rustic Wood Ornaments

Hello lovelies! In today’s instalment of Blogmas, I’ll be showing you how to make decorated rustic wood ornaments. They can be completely personalized, and are a lot of fun and to create! I decided to keep mine pretty simple, but you can definitely dress them up as much as you like.

I purchased these wood ornaments at Michael’s, and I was lucky to get them during a BOGO sale. They are already quite cute on their own, but adding a special, handcrafted touch makes them more delightful to receive as gifts. I decided to replace the twine with pretty plaid ribbon, which is also from Michael’s. I used beads that I already had in my craft supply collection from various craft stores.

Michael’s had a TON of fun ribbons to choose from! I ended up not using the pink and blue beads pictured above as I decided to keep my design simple.
I cut the ribbon into 12 inch pieces, and used a piece of tape to stiffen the ends so I could thread them through the hole.
Here is what the ribbon looked like after I knotted it.
I pulled off the tape, and used a small bit of hot glue so the ends stay together and don’t fray.

This fun little project took under an hour to complete, but it will bring endless joy! Another customization idea would be to add a monogram with paint or felt. As I mentioned earlier, you can definitely get as creative as you want with this project. All you need is a glue gun and your imagination!
