Hello loves! I’m really excited to share my mani with you today! The design isn’t super complicated or anything, but the reason they are special to me is because it’s the FIRST time I wear press on nails! Crazy right? I’ve been hand painting and selling them on Etsy for almost three years, but I’ve never tried them myself before now. I’m so happy I finally gave them a try! Here are some of the pros of wearing press on nails:
- Painting the press on nails is so much easier than painting your own nails (you don’t have to worry about using your non-dominant hand!).
- Press on nails require minimal dry-time (there is a lot dry-time for painting the press on nails of course, but there is very little dry-time when applying them!).
- The nails are customizable to any length or shape.
- No chips, and NO SHEET MARKS!!
Yes you read that right, press on nails do not chip! I applied them during the evening of Thursday, April 7 and since then I’ve done the dishes numerous times, I’ve washed my hair and I’ve done other household chores and there is not a single chip in sight! However, on two occasions my thumbnail popped off on it’s own. I carry my nail glue in my purse with me, so I can discretely glue Β the nail back in place.
I purchased the press on nails from Ebay. For this mani I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear nail polish in “Giant Peach”, OPI nail lacquer in “Give Me the Moon!” and lots of loose glitter!
These are the sizes I used. I love these sets of 20 nails, you’re guaranteed to find your size! The glue I used to apply the nails is the Nailene Ultra Quick Brush On glue. The setting time is 5 seconds per nail so I was able to apply my whole manicure in under 3 minutes!
This is what my mani looked like before trimming and sizing the nails. I love this length but I wanted something slightly more natural for my first press on nail experience!
Here are my nails after being trimmed and filed. I think they almost look natural!
The only con I noticed about wearing press on nails is the slightly awkward feeling I got when I first applied them. I felt like I had to be super cautious so they wouldn’t break off. I typed really carefully at first, and was careful with my movements in general. However, the awkward feeling went away after a few hours and I’m typing this blog post completely normally. I’m really impressed with the Nailene glue!
Are you a fan of press on nails? I will definitely wear them again and still can’t believe I waited this long to try them! If you are interested in seeing my Etsy shop, click here. Thanks for reading! xo
