Book Review: Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella

Twenties Girl is another masterpiece from Sophie Kinsella (in my opinion, at least). Her chicklits are my guilty pleasure. This time I’m only going to give you a brief intro and not spoil the whole plot!

Twenties Girl tells the story of Lara Lington, a twenty-something year old woman who’s life is not totally in order… She is trying to run a head-hunting company while her business partner, Natalie, has deserted her, and she recently broke up with her boyfriend Josh, and is trying to figure out what went wrong. Things can’t get any worse, can they?? Lara is suddenly visited with the spirit of her great-aunt Sadie. Now she has a feisty ghost to deal with on top of everything else!!

Sadie cannot rest until she finds her lost dragonfly necklace. Lara agrees to help her look for it, but it seems she is on a wild-goose chase. And Sadie is causing mischief and landing Lara in trouble wherever the pair go (not to mention causing Lara to look like a lunatic, talking to thin air). Throughout their adventures together Lara begins to learn a lot about her heritage and the importance of family. Thanks to her perseverance, Lara uncovers the truth about Sadie’s past and the secret her uncle Bill has been hiding for over 20 years. She also has the courage to stand up to her so-called best friend Natalie and put her in her place. And it wouldn’t be a Sophie Kinsella novel if there wasn’t a new romance budding for Lara!!

Check this book out, it’s guaranteed to move you while giving you a good laugh.
